About Camp Reed

The ultimate in camp activities… along with tried and true traditions come together at Camp Reed each summer. At camp, your child will have the opportunity to learn more about themselves and others as they set out to explore and experience the natural beauty of close to 500 private acres nestled along the shores of Fan Lake.

Living in a day where childhood years are diminishing… and adult responsibilities are growing, Camp Reed can be a breath of fresh air from a culture that leaves little room for youthful behavior and just plain fun activities that nourish the soul. There is no better place than Camp Reed for a kid to be a kid and truly experience life amidst the tall trees, excellent staff, and rich program activities. “It’s the best” will be heard from campers and staff alike as they approach the day, each other, and life itself. It’s more than a motto; it’s an outlook on life that finds the positive elements in every situation. Challenges become opportunities to grow.

The Camp Reed Staff
As role models and community leaders Camp Reed staff live and promote the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Perhaps the most important attribute of any camp is the quality of its staff. Camp Reed always has a mix of seasoned veterans and a few carefully selected new faces that bring enthusiasm and skill to their job. Each staff member is fully trained including First Aid & CPR certification. Staff are chosen on the basis of maturity, program skills, and genuine love of children. Many staff are former campers, CIT’s and JC’s.
